On October 7, 2009, Oncor filed its application at the PUC (docket   #37464) to build the Brown to Newton 345 kV Transmission Line. Their preferred route and 21 alternate routes run from across the Colorado River in northwest San Saba County, down FM-500, across the San Saba River and then across the Colorado River again at Red Bluff Crossing.

  • PUC FINAL ORDER!

    At the April 1, 2010 PUC Open Meeting, Commissioners voted to adopt the ALJs' Proposal for Decision and granted Oncor a certificate of convenience and necessity to build a 345kV transmission line along Route 140 through Mills County instead of Route 255 through San Saba County. The Commissioners voted to make some modifications to Route 140, making it identical to Oncor's alternate route 137. Read the final order here...
